Is this bike worth it? specialized allez.?

i currently ride a 80's nishiki sebring i got from a garage sale for 15 dollars. i am looking to upgrade but dont have the money for a quality bike yet so im looking for an inbetweener. i found an early 90's specialized allez epic fro sale for about 150-175 dollars. first of all is this bike worth the price and second of all would it be a noticable upgrade from my current bike.

ive read about these bikes a lot and it seems some people love them and others hate them. ive heard something about if it has a grey bottom bracket area then its no good. whats up with that? also did this bike come with 700c wheels or 27''? anything else that would be helpfull is greatly appreciated.

you should be looking at something newer, i know you said you don't have much cash right now but i would save and you can easily get a good bike for 500-600 from your lbs...i bought my gf a trek for that much...the quality of the new bikes is unmatched...a bike that old will need a lot of new parts.  That bike won't last you as long as a newer bike.

Save your money up and get a new gen entry road bike... The jump from your 80's bike to your 90's bike wont be worth it in the long run...

Keep with the 80's ride until you can afford something new, you wont regret it.
