I went to work today. I worked for one month. And I was making coffee, but it seems that the coffee thing that holds the beans or the coffee powder while it is brewing wasn't put inside proberly, and it fell out, and when I wasn't looking, i was like right in front of it, i turn around and i see it come out, it was like brewing andvery hot, and i tryed to catch it, but when it fell it was too late and it fell on me. I was like in shock for a moment, not knowing what just happened, you hear a big bang on the floor, and than 2 seconds later I fall on my knees, like in pain saying, ow ow ow ow ow!!!!!!!!!! And the girl beside me saw what happened, she rushes meto the bathroom to wash my hands, and it was very painful, that I started to cry, and she asked me if I'm crying from shock, and I'm like no, I was crying cause it killed. And it was like a 2 second tear roll, nothing more, I couln't keep them in, so it was a natural reaction to the pain and shock and the same time, and someone brougt me paper towels to like wipe off the coffee beans from my pants. And than I went into the office and they put this liquidy spray on me, and they say it helps to keep the pain away. And they sprayed my whole hand with it, but it still hurt like h**l. And they told me to sit down, but I disobeyed them and continued surving. And the next customer noticed something wrong, cause i was teary. So because I was wearing pants, that protected me which was good, so the pain was more bearable, compared to the hand. The hand pain was soo freaking bad though. I come home, only to discover that I got a burn bubble on one of my fingers, and my legs, or thighs to be exact, where the coffee fell. I'm like red their, and nice big bubbles, and I don't want to tell my mom about that, she knows about the accident, but not about the burns. And i put ice on it, but I'm afraid if it pops, its going to hurt, my mom says that popping bubbles hurts when I showed her my burn bubble on my finger. And if i touch the bubbles it hurts. Is this burn very bad, its like red all over them, and I don't care about them, its the freakyness thats going to be when they pop. Idon't wan them to pop, will this go away soon? And is this burn a degree burn, and if it is, is this really bad????????

  1. Bad? Yup.

Degree burn? They all are- this one sounds like a second degree.

    Seek medical attention? You bet!

  2. I hope you reported what happened to your supervisor because this is a workman's comp issue.  It sounds like you have 2nd degree burn, which isn't as serious as 3rd degree but is still a serious issue.  If you can I would try to call your employer and tell them that the burns on your hand is still hurting you.  If you can't get ahold of them you might want to ask your mom to take you to the ER.  DON'T POP THE BLISTER.  If they break open on there own do your best to keep the clean, dry, and covered.  Don't put butter on the burns either, I know there are people who might suggest this as a method to ease the pain but don't do it.  Ice will help take the heat out of the burn and should help some with the pain, but make sure you don't apply directly and actually it's better to use cool water and not ice, especially right after it happened.

But I seriously recommend getting to a doctor to get it looked at.  The doctor and rx you something to help with the burn.
