  1. thats a great cage.

Plenty of room, a nesting area, a wheel, toys.

Just watch your dwarfes, I had 2 russians, a mom and a baby i got from a petstore, one day I came home the baby killed the mom, a few days later the baby died.  So just if you see any swabbling seperate them.

  2. Wow! One of my hamster has this cage. It's brilliant, honestly. But beware on the original layout it advises (think one up yourself as Russian dwarf hamsters are unable to climb up vertical/sloping tubes).

PS. Don't listen to what leah says, this cage is MASSIVE. I bought it at the RRP price, so I call £35.95 an absolute bargain!

  3. Def! I had two gerbils that lived in a smaller one and one gave birth and now the babies live in that cage to(thats only because they the size of half your thumb, when they're older we'll seperate them). It looks like a nice cage! I think they'll be very happy in it!

  4. well your hamsters can escape and its hard to cleen so... no its not that good I fell in love with it and  i bought it then my hamster escaped 3  times then i changed cage and now its simple but my hamster still likes  it lukely i trained my hamster to come when i call her.pfew

  5. well those type of hamsters usually grow up to about 10-12 cm and looking at the cage it looks mega cool and the bars look quite close together so i think it shouldnt be a problem, only thing is, depends how big they are when you get them, but if you're that worried for the first couple of months, when theyre at theyre smallest, try placing a thn line of bedding like shredded cloth right around the inside of the cage up against the metal casing, pile it up a bit so the hamsters can't run straight through the bars without having to eat through the cloth and before theyve done that you'd notice and replace the half eaten cloth with new cloth, just do this untill you are comfortable that they are big enough to not get through the bars, it also looks to me like only sections of the cage are made up of metal bars whilst the other parts arejust tubing and plastic which are completely shut off.

    Hope that helped :)

  6. EDIT ok, so i was wrong i read the dimensions but it looks like it has poor ventilation... sorry=[

  7. i think its to small try finding some sort of an add on : )

  8. I agree with Law L.

The bars were my first thoughts too when I first saw the cage.

Dwarf hamsters are small...and if they can get their head through an opening, it isn't very difficult getting their body through it.

That cage looks just perfect, with all the nesting areas, wheel and the toys, and not to mention; the fabulous look!

Make sure the bars aren't big enough. Your little finger shouldn't go through it.

And also make sure the bars are not sharp (from here, they seem sharp)

This cage would be perfect for a Syrian hamster, but not sure if Dwarfs can get out through the gaps.

Anyways, just examine the cage before buying/ordering it.

Now I want that cage for my hammies too!

    lol

Let me know what you decide.

I wish you and your hammies all the very best.

PS: Cleaning that cage will be very challenging!

  9. yer seems it

it Defo big enough andf the bars seem close together so they cant escape

  10. yes its perfect

  11. That is a really nice cage.  Big and roomy with plenty of space for climbing and going through tubes.

I am a bit worried about the bars in the middle of the triangular bit.  I have had dwarf hamsters that sqeezed through bars and others that couldn't.  I would go to a shop that stocks it to get a better look at the bar spacing and talk to the staff.

Also dwarf hamsters can't climb vertical tubes as they aren't big enough to grop properly.  Rotastak (the manufacturer of the cage) sell little ladders (called "mouse ladders" or something like that) that you can fit to the vertical tubes to make them okay for dwarf hamsters.

If you are set on this cage and gettibg a pair of animals (so not a syrian) you could house a pair of gerbils in this if you filled the large all plastic bit up with lots of bedding for digging.

  12. omg!if my rat had that shed be in heaven!!yes that's great for your hammies!its roomy has a wheel and tubes!theyll love it!have fun!

  13. You really need to be able to SEE the bars.

If you can fit your fingers through the gaps, they're too big.

But you don't know that without seeing.

If that's fine, then it's a great cage. Just make sure they can climb the tubes to the nest area etc.

    ***

    It's a FINE size for /dwarf/ hamsters.

I work in a pet shop and we sell this cage, and it's fine for dwarf ones.

    The bars are the concern.
