Question:

Is this camera worth anything?

My mom just found an old camera and wants me to post it on ebay for her. The only problem is that it's film and I know nothing about film cameras.

According to the various writing on the case, it is a Petri 1.9 Color Corrected Super and f = 4.5 cm.

I want to sell it, but at the same time, if it is worth more, I don't want to get rid of it for ten bucks.

  1. It doesn't look like it's worth much at all. Sorry.

  2. why dont u try your chance? some people may want it for their collections. so u can earn from a useless thing. hehe

i hope u find a customer who buys it.

  3. You'd have a hard time giving it away. It was a Japanese company. I'm not sure if you have a SLR or rangefinder type. I posted a couple links which may be of interest.

The older cameras that are worth more are either Leica or Contax, and the lenses that are compatible with them. Also some camera lenses that are compatible with digital SLRs are more valuable.

Why not keep it, at least for nostalgic value? Shoot with the camera your mom used 30+ years ago. Film can be fun and you can really learn a lot about photography with a manual film camera.

Also, it's probably a nice, well made camera. There's probably a lot fo quality in there. A 45mm lens is great for everyday use, and f/1.9 is a pretty fast lens....meaning it can do well in low light.

  4. Post it as a bid on eBay, and if it's worth something, people will bid more.
