My personal preference for a camera is to get one with a viewfinder, and it is a canon.

I am very bias with the canon company there quality is almost unbeatable.

Yes it is.  The only thing I don't really like is the lack of an optical viewfinder, but so it goes with many cameras these days.  At least it has image stabilization to help you when you have to hold the camera out in front of you.

The only similar comparison in the Canon line would be the S5-IS, but it costs over $100 more.
