Kosmo doesn't seem to know his name after 9 years. Or, is it that he just won't respond?

Pets don't know their name it's the tone of voice you use. Instead of saying it like you would when you're talking to another person try saying it high pitched like you would to a kitten. If he still doesn't respond then he's probably going deaf due to his age as an average cat lives up to 15.

he knows his name, but he does not care. the human does not have food, the computer he is laying on is warm.

he has no use for the human, so he ignores him.

when hi is hungry or cold, he will answer to his name, to amuse the human.
