Question:

Is this central heterochromia?

I just read about central heterochromia, and that sounds like what my eyes look like, plus those of most people in my family. One of the pages I read, though, said that it's the rarest form of heterochromia, so I'm not sure if that explains my eye color or not--I have a hard time imagining it could be so common in my family if that's the case. My parents tend to call it green/hazel, though the outer ring is clearly blue or gray, because the yellowish tinges in the center kind of give it a green look from a distance. I've been told that they look like they change colors. If it matters, they were plain blue until I was about 8.

  1. i think that is heterochromia, im a bit of a freak of nature as i have two types , total or heterochromia irridium and centeral or heterochromia iddius, basically my left eye is green and hazel, and my right eye is brown with blue. your eyes are kind of like my right eye only mine is more brown and a bit darker so yep you definatly have centeral heterochromia! but if you had blue eyes until you were 8 have it checked out by an optician as it could of been caused by illness or injury.

some celbrities noted to have this condition are: Dan Aykroyd (actor) keifer sutherland (actor) christopher walken (actor)  david bowie(musician)

  2. Think so and my eyes look almost the same but a bit more green than yours and wth a golden central ring round the pupils

  3. i have the same thing :) mine are grey with a yellow and amber around the pupil

  4. My eyes look exactly the same :) And mine were blue as a kid too!  Interesting that someone else has that same thing.
