presented a plan of action in Afghanistan to Congress they would just fall over themselves rejoicing. Have my fellow Americans become that simple-minded?

McCain claims he knows how to win wars.   If this is true,  then why has he kept silent on the matter while American soldiers have died?   I would think if he were so good at it,  perhaps those who have the authority would listen and perhaps heed his wisdom.   I think that in his desperation to win,  McCain would promise almost anything.

We must remember that the fall of the Soviet Union began with their fight with Afghanistan years ago.  Perhaps our Politicians and leaders should really study past World history on this one!!!!!  Afghanistan is a very very rugged country, and Pakistan also hides the Taliban.  This will be a very different sort of war than we have ever been in before.  A  so called "surge" in Afghanistan I don't think, would bring about the types of results our Politicians would like to see.

I don't know if it is so much that people are simple-minded as they are just plain hating the opposite party.  They don't even stand back to listen.  Bush hadn't even taken the oath yet, and people hated his guts.  And now 8 yrs. later, it's worse.  It's  because he's Republican.  I am a Republican, but I am so sick of hearing the bashing of Obama or the Clintons.  I can understand disagreements, but to come out and Hate is just ridiculous.  I believe any nominee for President has a hard road ahead of him/her--they're no less patriotic than any other, they just have different views on what defines a good America
