Trinity United Church around 400 W. 95th Street. The Westboro baptist church is going to picket there and I would like to go and ***** them out. A friend has told me that its not in the safest of neighborhoods and Im trying to find out if it would be safe for me and my friends who are only 15. For all who dont know these are the people who say "God hates f**s" and "Thank God for dead marines" at soldiers funerals.

  1. yes it is , don't go there, please trust me on this . you are right they are jack sses but don't put your life in jeopardy just to make a point. very good chance of getting seriously hurt by the neighborhood thugs, incidentally this was that goof obama s church prior to a few months ago.

  2. i hear everywhere in Chicago is bad, but isn't that a good reason to have church there?  by the way, God (Jesus that is) does not hate anyone.... He only hates sin.

  3. It's not safe to be picketing there but the person (HANK) that's saying "you're likely to get hurt by neighborhood thugs" is probably just assuming that it's unsafe because it is a mostly Black neighborhood, but all Black people are not barbarians! I haven't even heard of any crimes going on around there recently.

Anyway, being your age I wouldn't suggest it.... It's a waste of time and you could get hurt simply because of your purpose and I wouldn't worry about getting hurt by "neighborhood thugs" as much as I would worry about being in danger from the Church members, the Westboro members that you're going to anti-picket, and the police.

  4. What the questioner is asking might not initially be clear, people, due to his/her poor writing skills. S/he belongs to the Westboro Baptist Church and plans to picket at Trinity. Westboro--NOT Trinity--is the church known for promoting hate at soldiers' funerals and against homosexual people.

Well, I hope this poster IS afraid of Chicago, if that's the case. Persona1025, how does it feel to preach hate? You're only 15. Give up the pro-hate demonstrations and try exposing yourself to new people. You might learn that there is no reason to be fearful and hateful of people who are different....

Late add: Persona1025, thanks for the clarification. In your original post, it was not clear, and I thought you were a member of the Westboro church. You've since made clear that is not the case at all.

  5. No, it isn't too bad over there.  It isn't like 79th and Jeffrey.  I mean, the church is huge and takes up the whole block.  Parking is safe and you won't have to walk very far.

    Be Careful

  6. You seem to have your facts a bit confused. Stay home and read.
