Is this classed as sucking up??

my boyfriend has invited me to his cousins fifth birthday party, a- for the party, and b- to meet his entire family.. iv met his immediate family which are wonderful.. im realli nervous though about meeting his whole family.. im wondering if it would look like i was sucking up if i bought the 5 year old birthday girl a small present... any suggestions please help!!

that's not sucking up, thats sweet, just a small present would be good, don't go too over the top. His family would think better of you if you brought a small little something for the girl.

its not sucking up your being sweet and thoughtful.....your just doing a kind jester. I would do the same if I was in your position. since you all ready met his immedaite family and they like you the rest you the family will like you to, they'll probably go around telling the rest of the family good things about you and how they like you and stuff.

Of course you should buy a gift for the birthday girl.  That's what birthday parties are all about.

The birthday girl will be very happy to meet you and the gift will be a great touch.

Something small and tastefull .. maybe get some ideas from your boyfriend about her interests, likes and dislikes.

not at all.  make sure its not something over the top though.  see what kind of dolls she likes and get her one.  or you could even get her a birthday card with a five dollar bill in it...to signify her five years.
