Is this cloth toy safe for my puppy?

I took an old towel and tore it into 3 strips, and then braided them and tied off the two ends. My puppy is playing with it right now. Is it safe for her?

  1. Well, they do sell a similar toy made of felt-like material. I don't see why it isn't safe. Just keep an eye on it to make sure the dog isn't chewing any pieces or strings off of it.

PS - we give our dog old socks... nothing wrong with making toys at home.

  2. it's okay to give your puppy that and if she chews it she will probably spit it out rather than swallowing a piece

thats what my dogs will do

  3. If you have an old worn out towel that you can just tear with your hands and tried to make a 'rope bone' out of it then no, if it is that worn out your puppy can get a piece of it down her throat and either choke on it or have it go into her intestines and have to have surgery because that can be very dangerous.  Just go to the store and buy a rope bone and stop being such a cheapskate.

  4. Well if your puppy somehow unties it,you should probably take it away due to risk of choking and plus if he/she rips pieces of,throw them right away again, due to risk of chooking.

  5. Well, i see nothing wrong for it playing on it. But, make sure that it will not chew on it, which will make an mess! Also, make sure that it doesn't choke.
