In a text message, if you say "I hope I'm not bothering you" and the person writes back, "You're not bothering me. I like talking to you!"

Is that response a form of flirting if the person is shy?

  1. Oh yeah, it's flirting.  Just like it was when you answered back and said that he's not bothering you.  And you did, didn't you?

  2. i guess, if u point out that u actually like talking to that person then... its a form of flirting... its giving the other person the change to add on to it... aww thats so cute

  3. No, it's not flirting.. it is being polite and to probably like that person but more as a friend..to say I like talking to you.. means.. I like your messages but doesn't indicate flirting. It means on a friendly basis this person likes to be in touch... and talk to you that is not flirting to me...'' also not when a person is shy..

  4. It does not seem like flirting to me even for someone who is shy. If the other person responded with a message that allowed for more conversation then it would have been more flirting like.

  5. It's not really a flirt. It's sort of a compliment.

  6. in a way yes and in a way no because he/she is trying to be nice and friendly..

  7. It may be.

  8. I wouldn't consider it flirting.

I'm a really shy guy when it comes to that, but I wouldn't say something like that as a form of flirting.

For instance one of my best friends always acts like she is a pain or annoying, and I always tell her otherwise in similar ways, like "You're never annoying" and such. It just shows my respect for her, not that I want to hook up or anything.

It seems like a pretty generic statement.

  9. It's not necessarily a flirt but if the person is really shy this is probably their way of flirting because they're too shy to do anything else.

  10. No not really flirting, its fishing. They are fishing to make sure they won't be embarrassed by texting you and you thinking that they are annoying. So you ask  if you're bothering them so they say no, so you can be a little bit more confident.
