Question:

Is this considered plagiarism?

I recently written this in class essay in English and I think I might have plagiarized the last sentence. The sentence was "It's not about winning but the love of the game." (without quotes) I started freaking out because, since I'm in college now, that I will get into serious trouble for plagiarizing. But, my friend said that it is a cliche and that is acceptable and I shouldn't worry. Naturally, for me that is, I'm still worrying about it. What is your opinion? Oh, and by the way, this essay was just a writing sample so the teacher isn't going to grade it, she just wanted to see our writing style.

  1. I was quite sure that that was just a cliche. You should be fine. If you really want, include a bibliography but I don't think it should matter.

  2. It's not really plagiarism, although if you copied word for word from a reference you used, you could possibly be in strife.
