Is this considered stealing?

Say you buy a printer and use up most of the ink. You buy a new printer, same model, and swap the ink catridges. You return the one you just bought with a near empty printer.

Is this considered stealing? If so, what charges can be pressed against you?

  1. i suppose it is more like fraud then stealing, but i don't think you would be hunted down and prosecuted for a ink cartridge.  it would be the same thing if you always print personal stuff at a work printer.  is that stealing

  2. Yes it is STEALING and YOU KNOW IT IS. I mean you have to have some moral compass that is telling you it is wrong or you wouldn't be asking us. Either buy a new ink cartridge or go with out a printer. They can charge you for theft by deception, and probably more.

  3. dude, that's kind of genius...you can just keep trading out your printer, and having new ink cartridges...no one would probably ever think much about it...especially if you bought your printer at some discount place at wal-mart with a high employee turn over rate...the same cashier would never make the return once, if you allow 3 months or so for the return...or until the ink runs out

  4. This is a " Moral " question, do you think that is right? I didn't think so.

  5. If you were to get caught, I'm sure you would be fined.

  6. The ink costs little to them and a lot to you. A petty crime. Go for it if you need the bucks.

  7. yes. it is also cheating the person who might buy the returned printer

  8. ahahaha just buy the ink...and yah i think it might be called stealing for some ppl...

  9. Its rude isn't it?

It kinda shows who ever does this doesn't have very good morals and i hope Karma rapes them.

It is kind of stealing if they can catch you for it

  10. idk if its stealing but if they find out you can be charged for stealing but you can just say you didn't know a good lawyer would easily get you out of it but ITS WRONG!!!! SHAME BAD

  11. I think so... its like stealing the ink thing thats worth 60 dollars so yeah.. You can prolly get fined
