At this moment in time, America is not in a financial recession. The defination of a recession is two thirds (i.e. two thirds of the year) negative growth. America has not had two thirds negative growth yet. The chances that the country will be go into recession is high.

You should probably specify a country as the internet is international.

I assume you're probably talking about the U.S though. If they aren't in recession now, they are almost certainly going to be in a year or two.

Yes, it is. that's why President Bush is giving out rebate checks to everyone (300 per child, 1200 for married couples, 600 to singles).  He's trying to jumpstart the economy. Little does he know.. it's not going to work when the cost of living& gas is so expensive.
