Well, yesterday I went to the dog pound and saw this adorable brown female dog. I forgot what breed it was but it was abused & abanoned by an owner. She was really quiet & I asked someone that worked there to take her out so I could test it. She put her on a leash and took her out of a cage. But when she got out, she was the complete oppisite of calm & quiet. She was growling @ other dogs bigger than her (well mostly all the dogs). I tried to walk her but she kept jumping around getting her leg caught on the leash. What happened? Are all the dogs like that? I'm going back tomorrow & I'm hoping to get answers. Thank you & God bless. :)

  1. Well I don't know. I got one of my Dogs from the pound and she was Beaten and Abused too, But I don't know how she behaved after she got out of the cage cause I was in school. But when she was in the house she was scared half to dead and at night we had some news paper for her to do her business. she peed all over the floor.

  2. Walking lady gave some good advice.

Also shelter dogs backgrounds can be pretty iffy you never know what they've been through. Many of those guys carry the similar stories they were abused or neglected or some just never received the proper training. They might need a little extra Patience but their worth it. ^_^

  3. Just listen to Walking Lady, great advice.

    Good luck and God bless

  4. You can't judge her temperament at all by the way she was acting in there.  She's stressed and not showing you her normal temperament at all.  You need to be able to take her outside of the building to walk her to get any kind of idea what she's actually like and even then, you've got to keep in mind that you're a stranger to her and she won't trust you because she doesn't know you.  You will, however, get a much better idea of what she's like if you get her out of the atmosphere inside the building.
