  1. I don't know the circumstances in the case of the Lorry driver so I can't comment whether the fine was fair or not.

In the case of the cyclist. He was riding his bicycle at high speed, saw the pedestrian and shouted for her to get out of his way. He had no intention of stopping. I think he got off lightly. I don't think you can compare one case with another, each has to be taken on its merits.

  2. i dont know the 1st story

but i seen the 2nd one last night and i think that the cyclist should have been jailed for deliberately running into the poor girl on his bike,  after all if he'd got off the bike and struck her with it he would have, it's a crazy world we live in

  3. the law is up gordon browns *** with everything else going wrong with the place

  4. The cyclist in question was speeding along the pavement/footpath, saw a group of teen girls, yelled ''Move – because I'm not stopping' then ploughed into them.

The result was a young girl of 17 died - the guy gets a £2200 fine.  He should have been locked up for manslaughter.

I don't know the circumstances of your other story, so I cannot comment.  However, if he was 100% to blame and the cyclist was not then the lorry driver should also be locked up.

  5. So you are saying that the lorry driver got a good deal, or the killer on the bike paid too much ?

  6. The cyclist that killed the girl was an arrogant piece of S**t who should have been charged with manslaughter!

  7. This not fair because the lorry driver should get fined more because the lorry driver would cause more damage and there is more of a chance of the person getting run over by a bike to survive than a lorry.

  8. The cyclists family should be given the option of killing the lorry driver with the lorry for £275.

  9. There are no "deterrent" laws in the UK anymore. You can get away with anything. Wrong!

  10. Its c**p and the laws and *** !!

  11. Each case gets treated on its merits.  It's not a tariff for the number of people you kill.

If you kill someone deliberately or recklessly, you face life imprisonment.  (OK they let you out on licence after 10 minutes, but that's because we don't want to pay for more prisons)

If you behave dangerously knowing that you are in control of a deadly weapon you could get up to 8 years in prison.  That includes a lorry, a car or a shotgun - but not a bike.

If you kill someone through your carelessness, you could still go to gaol, but you're more likely to be fined.  How much depends on how badly you were behaving, not what the consequences were.

  12. Please don't confuse Law and Justice.

  13. between them heather and PW have said it all
