"At the beginning of this presidential campaign when I decided that I was going to take my first public stance in support of a candidate, I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates," Winfrey, who was an early backer of Barack Obama, says in a statement to TMZ.com.

"I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over," she adds. "There has been absolutely no discussion about having Sarah Palin on my show."

AFTER THE CAMPAIGN WHAT THE H*** FOR THEN WHY NOT NOW?

  1. Ask yourself why Okra Fatfrey decided to take her "first public stance" in her life in favor of Bin Barry Hussein Osama? That is the answer.

    McCain/Palin '08

    Country First

  2. I don't think it is fair no.

But I respect Oprah the right to decide who gets to be on her show.

  3. I think Oprah has "jumped the shark" so to speak.  She is no longer the powerhouse she once was.

  4. Oh good grief. It's her show she can do whatever she wants. If she had her on now and asked her tough questions like "What is your foreign policy experience other than the fact that Alaska is close to Russia?" and made Palin look foolish people would be crying that she did it to make Obama look good.

    Double edged sword.

  5. on republican's double standard

  6. Oprah had already lost all my respect when she used her celebrity to influence our elections.  I hope Palin refuses to go on her show.

  7. Oprah is the richest lady in the USA.....worth $2.5 billion...

she can say whatever she wants and getaway scot free....

Thats the difference between rich and poor people

  8. Yep.

  9. Did you read the quote?  She is not allowing her show to be a platform for "any" candidate.  After the election is over they will no longer be vying for the presidency or vice presidency and the interview could proceed without all of the campaign rhetoric

  10. It's her show, she can have who she wants, when she wants them... If you don't like it, start your own tv show.... In my eyes she doesn't want to her show to be a platform for any of the candidates this late in the game... This makes perfect sense to me...

Why do you expect everyone to fall down and worship Palin... She was a no namer last week, now you treat her like a godess, get real....

  11. Didn't she have Obama on her show last year? Oh, maybe that was before she "officially endorsed" him. I'd say that would be considered a platform though.

    Nah, not fair.

  12. You don't seem to understand that Palin isn't giving interviews to anyone. It's not like she's begging Oprah for a shot. It's more like the American people and the press are begging for access to her, to be able to ask her questions and hear her views in her own words, and the campaign is saying  "go f*** yourselves." And that is because she is in no way ready to be the Vice-President, and that will become abundantly apparent once she has to handle actual questions about policy and issues.

  13. Any "entertainer" who uses their popularity to sway public opinion should be dragged out into the street and shot. And I mean all of them. Democrat or Republican.

When they start this I just turn them off. Which God granted them the right to tell me how I should cast my vote. We don't tell them who to s***w.

  14. Eh, it's not about being fair to her. Oprah made a stand and this isn't like previous years where she ways relatively neutral and interviewed candidates from both sides. She doesn't want to promote Palin but finds her to be an interesting interview. Makes sense to me. It's her show and it's hardly CNN so I don't she why she shouldn't be able to do whatever she'd like.

  15. Since she's a fervent supporter of Obama, and her show is from Chicago, I think that she's probably jealous of a female (not named Oprah) running for VP.  Oprah's a big name in entertainment, but cannot do in political circles what Sarah Palin can do for this great nation of ours.

I think it's just sour grapes coming from Oprah and Hillary Clinton.....  An ordinary housewife that happened to be a public servant as a mayor and a governor that has been elevated to running for America's VP!

  16. it is fair. It's her show and--as you pointed out--she is not using the show for ANY candidates.

  17. Of course, she did have Obama as a guest after he declared his candidacy... now, she doesn't want to interview anyone else.

    Double standard and prejudicial.

  18. even if she did want Sarah Palin on her show, the McCain campaign wouldnt allow her to go on because they want to protect her

  19. Who cares.  I haven't watched Oprah since I left my soap opera watching wife in the 80s.  Watch soaps and then watch Oprah.  I don't watch The View either.  They could take all of that drivel off and it wouldn't bother me any.  I don't care what their opinion is and I don't care about the opinion of any of their guests.  Learn to think for your self and make up you own mind.

  20. Oprah doesn't want to give Sarah an opportunity to win over viewers.

  21. THIS IS YOUR SECOND QUESTION ON THE SUBJECT.  YOU ARE SPREADING MISINFORMATION.

From your questions, you are the real hypocrite.

McCain's Campaign is not letting Sarah talk to ANY Media. Serious media has asked her to be on Meet the Press, Fox News Sunday, etc. and the McCain Campaign has said no.

Sarah Palin was just named a week ago and Oprah is just starting to tape a show. If serious media can't get her on their shows then HOW is Oprah refusing to let her on the show.

    USE LOGIC not Drudge Report.
