  1. yeah, there are reports of it. bu tyou know what? even if there is oil reserve in the US. it doesn;t make sense at all. after a time it will run out and that's what i think we should be discussing on WHY do they think that way? Why do companies sitll ignore sustainable solutions? why?>

  2. No, that's not true.  Read the link below.

It IS true that allowing drilling in Alaska would double our reserves, but that would not put us much higher in the rankings.

  3. No, i dont think so. If we had so much oil i dont think wed charge as much for it.

  4. I believe so,but for some reason they cant get it up..too costly or awkward or something

  5. it's thought, but not known, that there is more oil, for example in shale, that is currently far too expensive to extract, than the known proven extractable oil in the middle east.

however, since it's not usable at the moment, it really doesn't make much difference, now does it.

if, on the other hand, you were thinking about usable oil, such as is thought to be in ANWR, then the answer is no.

ANWR reserves are relatively small, amounting to considerable less than the oil used in the US in a single year.

that said, however, there is sufficient oil to be worth trillions of dollars to exxon, etc, which is what all the fuss is about.

  6. You can find the answer you are looking for at:

    The Bakken Formation

                See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bakken_Form...

  7. Look up the Bakken.  It'll tell you all about it. We have PLENTY in N. and S. Dakota's, Montana, and Canada. They couldn't drill for it when they first discovered it, cuz they lacked the technology. NOW we have the technology, but why there's a hold-up is beyond me.

  8. I beleive that is true.  We have the new find in North Dakota, our outer continental shelf, Oil shale in Colorado, amd massive amounts in ANWR.  Our problem is not supply it is Congress keeping us from developing that supply and the enviros allowing us to rfeine it.  Use of our own supply would boost our economy by over 700,000,000,000 (that is Billion)  might provide both you and I with a job

  9. i don't think that is true, i  know that iraq and iran has tons of oil.

  10. It is true that the US has enough oil to sustain our needs. Politics and the environment, however play a large role. We like ot keep the other countries happy by buying their oil....and we also want to save our "land" by not using our oil until we need to.

  11. if you asking about our reserves and whats in alaska and coastal drilling might provide then yes ive seen numbers that surpass the middle east but the problem is with the getting permits to drill and also the depth of where its located (this is a huge problem with alaskan oil they need to get through alot of ice that is to costly for them to turn profits)
