Is this fortune telling technique true?

Question

I read in an old book a few months ago that if you go into your bathroom or a dark room with a mirror and you brush your hair while you stare into it... that you will see your true love appear over your shoulder... forgive me if i sound naive... but i was wondering...is that true?

Jezz is correct entirely.  If you're really interested in finding other ways and more information, I would look in your area for a new age bookstore as they usually have alot of information to help you out.

People on here shouldn't answer if they don't know what they're talking about. Mirrors are one of the main Scrying tools- especially darkened mirrors (ie Dark Mirrors are mirrors that are curved, black and polished to be really shiny and are used by many fortunetellers) they are thought to be portels to other worlds, but on a practical level they work because they allow your eyes to wander unfocused, just like if you were using a crystal ball or bowl of water (other common scrying tools) if you read it in an old book then its probably an old belief, possibly Romany (gypsies) by the sound of it. Dont worry about sounding naive....these days people may find these beliefs and little practices quaint and pointless, but in thier day they were very important to people- good on you for being curious and wanting to know about old beliefs- thats what keeps them alive :)

go try it. i dont like mirrors though. they creep me out, and that new movie out "mirrors" isnt helping.   i dont think that will work though about youre 'true love'

First of all nothing to forgive if you don't ask you wont find out, it is wisdom,as for the mirror thing no it wont work a mirror is only glass with a covering on the back that is reflective,its just that when they were first made they were a source of wonder and so were given a certain amount of mystery,also they were so expensive to brake one was very very costly so to make sure that people were careful around them the story was put out that to break one would result in seven years bad luck,sorry lol went on a bit there.

No, if its dark, you wouldnt be able to see anything. But if you imagine hard enough, you might be able to imagine your true love.
