Is this forum mainly for adoptees?

I recently read an answer that said "Honey this board is mainly adoptees" and I think that maybe I'm in the wrong place. Is there a forum for people who are looking to adopt from foster care? Thanks to all for your help.

No..it's for any triad member relating to any topic that has anything to do with adoption.

you should join forums.adoption.com they have an entire section on foster care, there are alot of women there adopting from fostercare.. my husband and i are members there and in the process of becomming foster/adopt

No. adoptees, adoptive parents, birth parents, agencie workers. Infact I think this forum is for anyone who has an interest or opinion on adoption.

There is no dress code to come in here! And if there was, I wouldnt care. I would barge my way in anyway lol

The person who posted that is full of nonsense this forum is for anyone who wants to be here adoptees , Adoptive parents, Potential adoptive parents and people who just want to look at the board. Just like any other board on YA

No, it's isn't only for adoptees or mainly adoptees.  There are plenty of adoptive parents and bio parents here too.  Ask any question you want.  You may not always get answers you expect, but you’ll get a range of answers and opinions!

This forum is a place to discuss all things adoption.  There are a lot of adoptees here, which makes this a great place for us to learn.  But there are also a lot of adoptive parents and prospective adoptive parents, and even a handful of adoption social workers.  Plus, since this is a public forum, members of the general public who have nothing to do with adoption, or whose third cousin twice removed on grandma's uncle's side of the family was adopted.  LOL

There are a range of adoption-impacted people here.  If you are looking for people who will always see things from one perspective you might find a more "selective" site.  If you really want to hear the truth about how adoption is in real life, you will find a lot of real answers here.  You will also find some people who don't seem to have ever had any real experience with adoption, and it makes me wonder why they bother answering.  

But you will find a range of real answers here, too.  Expect some anger and pain from all directions, because that's real.  I am an adoptive mother of 2 from foster care.  It's a complicated story.  All adoption stories are complicated.  If you want to contact me privately feel free to.  

But, you can learn a lot here.  It just might not be what you fantasized about adoption.

Well anytime the community is open there will be waves from one side or another....  I have found that most site serving all interest for adoption tend to have these spats...

It's open to everyone and anyone. Just the other day I answered a question about who I thought was going to win the presidential race..... lol.....

Stick around, you'll learn alot from others who have either already adopted through foster care, or are going through the process.
