got my wisdom teeth looked at.. been bothering me for 6 monthes now and getting worse. It feels achey and now im getting an ear ache/ Is the ear ache from the wisdom? My dentist said they are coming in fine but if causing pain i can get them out. They hurtt:[ Is there something he could have missed? Also on my right side where it hurts the most my gland behind my ear is swollen and hurts

  1. it could be related to your wisdom teeth.  you should have them removed.  but, to be on the safe side you might have your physician take a look at the swollen gland


  2. even though the wisdom tooth is coming in fine, the gums surrounding it can get infected & inflamed causing the referred pain to the ear. Check with the ENT and see if its not ear problem.

  3. Dentists don't miss when they can make a buck.  With the xrays they  can see everything..     Glandular problem unrelated to teeth

Hello, While your DDS gave you correct information, he may have not told you that erupting wisdom teeth don't always arrive in perfect health...There is a possibility that one or more will arrive with a decay or an abscess attached. When this happens it's imperative that the offending tooth be removed ASAP . From your description of the current situation you need a current set of Xrays to determine the exact position and condition of the wisdom teeth. If you are like most people, your overall tooth alignment will be better off without the wisdom teeth, so having them removed now can be a plus, even if they appear to be in good condition.
