I have 3 stepdaughters in their 20's. They have spent most of their lives in the US, but their mother is from and lives in Caracas. She raised them all to believe they are to support her after they get through with college. Is this typical rationale there?

  1. alot of parents tought there kids that... but with inflation and high costs of living now the kids grow up and have to support there own families and its tough for them,, yeah they can give there mom something but they cant fully support her... parents have to keep that in mind and invest in a good pension plan,,,

  2. In the old days that was the way it was. My parents, uncles and aunts have always supported my grandparents because Venezuela has a very poor social security system. My siblings and I don't so much support my parents but we do help them out with some money. I guess it all depend on the family.
