They are trialing in Canada Chemical Castration for convicted paedophiles in an effort to make them safe to society but the drug used is reversible and reliant on the paedophile taking the medication. How can this be a reliable option, whats to stop them from stopping their medication?

Would not a permanent alternative be better?

  1. Obviously this drug is not going to work in practice.

Cruel as it sounds the physical casteration solution appears to be the best way of solving this very serious problem, which should include re-habilitation.

  2. yes. a better alternative would be physical castration (cruel and unusual punishment) life imprisonment (expensive) or death.  so given chinas status as our frenemies theyare obligated to opt out of cruel and unusual.  so it is the drug or death.  i say death.

  3. What is to stop them stopping their medication. I suppose the same thing that stops you from committing crime.

If as the other guy said, death should be the option then we had better be sure we have the right person. We know from experience that all too often we don't get the right guy. Sad but true. Would you want to be on the receiving end of a miscarriage of justice? If you were I think you'd be happier with the chemical option than the death. Don't you?

Personally speaking as someone with morals. I would not want to be responsible for anyone's death. I am not a nihilist. It's that lack of personal responsibility that allows people to commit crime in the first place. We are in a society, we have to act responsibly. We cannot act with a sociopathic mind set.

  4. I think that they should let pediphiles know what it's like to be molested. Have a big, strong guy, a lifetime prisoner, come and tie the pediphile up and then molest him for like a week. Maybe that'll change their minds!!
