  1. Probably not.  Latest forecasts favor a near to somewhat above average amount of tropical systems for the Atlantic basin, while the eastern Pacific favors a below average amount.

  2. The chance that we will see another 2005 in terms of storm numbers is very remote, but the chance of us seeing a slightly above normal season is pretty high. All it takes to make the season memorable though is ONE storm. Andrew in 1992 is a great example of this.

  3. No but they already have an excuse ready.  Something like "global warming is attenuating them on a temporary basis while energy builds up for a massive outbreak"

  4. they are calling for 16 named storm's this year thats what i just heard on the t.v.

  5. It all depends on if things line up correctly.  We definitely could use some of it in the south.  We are very dry here.  The south is pretty dependent on the hurricanes and tropical storms for the water.

But like I said, it all depends - water temperature, fronts, etc. play a big part in it.  And last year was a big year, just not on the Atlantic side.  The Pacific (Mexico) had quite a few which no one seems to remember since it didn't affect the U.S.
