Holiday Inn Rome West

VIA AURELIA KM 8400, Rome

I'm trying to decide on staying here, or at the International Palace, (Via Nazionale 46). I know that the International Palace is closer, but it's also about $600 more...

If the Holiday Inn isn't THAT far from where we want to be (close to colleseum, and the rest of the goodies :] ) then that's what we'll go with.

Is it close to the trains and buses? Is it within walking distance of the sights?

  1. This hotel is not within walking distance of the sights, but is pretty close to the city center and the sights. Furthermore, I'm pretty sure they have a shuttle that takes you to the subway and buses. It is roughly 6 kilometers from St. Peter's, and from there you are in walking distance to all the "goodies".

Of course, the hotel on Via Nazionale is smack in the city center and on a street full of shops, but like you say, a lot more expensive. I would go with the Holiday Inn, and enjoy the money you saved on shopping!
