  1. First of all, guinea pigs are heard animals. They NEED companionship. It is as important as having all the right supplies. No matter how much you love it and spend time with it, you will never replace a guinea pig friend for it. Please get at least two same sexed ones.

Next, that cage is MUCH too SMALL for even a single quinea pig! The minimum for two is 50" by 30". That cage is 35"x13". I have actually never seen a proper sized cage in any pet store. But you can make one for very, very little.

And finally, guinea pigs CANNOT run on any curved surfaces. They are no flexible, and doing so can easily result in serious damage to thier spiines, if not kill them. This means no wheels or balls. They get their exercise from having a large cage, and having daily out-of-cage time.

Carefresh and igloos are perfect for them, but you must have at least one hiding place per pig. So you need at least two hiding places. There is no need to buy them, you can simply use old cardboard boxes.

Please, please read the entire site http://www.cavyspirit.com/

Also, vitamins are not necessary. As long as you feed them proper veggeis regularily, there is no need for supplements. You can buy vitamins, but do not use the ones that are added in water. This makes the water dangerous.

  2. Only the carefresh and pigloo is okay.

These are better housing options http://www.guineapigcages.com/

The guinea pigs can break their backs and die in those wheels. They are not hamsters or rats.

Pet stores will sell you harmful products. Please read over http://www.guinealynx.info/healthycavy.h... for proper care info.

    And adopt http://www.petfinder.com/

  3. everything is perfect except for the wheel and ball. not good for a piggie!!

  4. the cage is good just take the shelf off but if you do get more or your guinea pig gets rly big then get a bigger cage or something else you can do is go to http://cavycages.com

and find out how to build your own its much better cause you can build the size you want and its not too expensive

    the bedding is good

but the wheel and ball dont use for guinea pigs the ball could hurt there feet and back same with the wheel

    hope i helped

EDIT i looked at the cage more its too small try a c&c cage from the website they are SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!!!

and get one big enough for two cause guinea pigs NEED a friend with them!!

  5. Balls and wheels are dangerous for piggies.  Instead, just make sure they have a large cage, and get time out of it.  Really, that cage is much too small.

I built a C&C cage for my piggies, and they love it.  It takes up quite a bit of room (Wouldnt' though if I made 2 levels.) but it's easy to clean, they enjoy it, and it's fun to decorate.  And, they're going to cost you a lot less.

For food, look into Oxbow's guinea pig food.  It's really good for them, and my pigs love it.

  6. um first off...the cage you want is for mice. the baby guinea pig will grow fast! you should get 2 for company. don't buy a guinea pig from pet-smart. they keep them in small aquariums and that is a major health problem. the ammonia from their pee is VERY bad. i suggest that you get a guinea pig from a breeder. they TAKE CARE of their guinea pigs (unlike pet-smart). your food will have to be Romaine lettuce, carrots, kale, apples, peppers, oranges, and spinach. NO BANANAS!!!(they give them deadly gas.) take great care of them and they should be amazing pets. but make sure that YOU ARE NOT ALLERGIC TO THEM IN ANYWAY!!!!

also a major food for them is TIMOTHY hay and pellets that ONLY say "for guinea pigs." make sure they have enough water(full everyday),

a clean cage( i do once a week) and plenty of attention.

remember: guinea pigs LOVE to be complimented so don't hold up on them. also dispite what a lot are saying...guinea pigs CAN be potty trained to a certain extent.  mine go in the corners of thier cage.

HAVE FUN WITH YOUR GUINEA PIGS!

  7. first off... you DO realise that a baby GP will grow right? ok, second cage=too small

    igloo= sure  its good

carefresh= good, best pet bedding ever!! =]

as far as the ball and wheel go= DONT they are really bad for the GP's back, it can beak it!!

ok, y not try a C&C cage? 1GP peall needs 7.5 square FEET to be happy also it will get lonely a second one is advised... so then 10 square feet of living space. =] oh and yes, PetSmart should have em =]
