I am looking to upgrade my A5 into an electronic marker, these are the following upgrades I plan to purchase:

These are all upgrades to increase rate-of-fire:

-Tippmann A5 E-Grip WAS Board- 99.95 CDN$

-TechT A5 Vortex Mod- 45.95 CDN$

-TechT Squichy Paddles For Cyclone- 29.95 CDN$

These upgrades will increase range: (Just a better quality Co2 tank than I currently have)

-BT Paintball APEX Barrel A5- 69,95 CDN$

-DXS 20oz Co2 Tank- 38.95 CDN$

These upgrades will make the gun lighter:

-NXe 4+1 Harness- 21.20 CDN$

-Kingman Remoteline- 44.95 CDN$

This is just a jersey and pant combo:

-Smart Parts Fighter 3 Jersey- 47.95 CDN$

-Smart Parts Fighter 3 Pants- 71.95 CDN$

Just looking for opinions on whether or not this stuff is worthwhile and worth the money.

Thank You.

  1. Rather than purchase a bunch of upgrades, play with the marker stock first, then you can determine which mods you will actually benefit from.  Increased ROF does make a better paintball marker, sometimes it is overkill and you just end up wasting paint.

If you are set on upgrading the trigger, an E-Grip with APE is the better option.

Barrel = Palmers Brass, Lapco Apex-ready Big Shot with Apex tip, or J&J Performance ceramic.

Air source = compressed air, since you are planning on using a harness and remote line, save some money and purchase an aluminum tank

Personally, I would hold off on the TechT mods until you wear out or break and actually need to replace the stock Cyclone parts.

  2. APE E-Grip is much better than WAS and more reliable

For about $109, you can get the entire Tech-T cyclone kit

Apex tip increases range but the barrel is bad.  I highly recommend a Palmers Brass Barrel:

(not longer than 16", porting not needed on a tippmann, .690 bore)

    Apex tip adaptor:

or the tape mod to put the Apex tip on the Palmers Brass Barrel.

Lighten the gun, a 32* remote line without slide check (slide checks are junk), instead one of these which is much more reliable:

When you run remote, the gun is a little harder to balance.  I suggest a folding adjustable stock.

If your playing woodsball, I would suggest some BDU's, military camo.

All of this is a big investment and I personally would slowly add it instead of all at once.  Slowly adding it will let you use it and find out what upgrades you really want.

If you will be playing for a while and regularly, it would be a good investment.

  3. i would run hpa in it if i were you it runs a lot cleaner and it wont freeze ur electronics

  4. Yea all those seem like a good idea except for the remote line, the Co2 tank, and the jersey/pants.

Forget about the remote line, there not very reliable and have been known to leak, and if you do get one buy a tippmann remote line its better than kingman.

Instead of a Co2 tank buy a HPA tank, its better for your gun at high rates of fire.

And Jersey/pants are kind of a waste unless you plan on playing in comps, i just play in a t shirt and jeans/shorts.
