Is this guy stuck up or just shy?

Question

Today in my class, my teachers wanted us to take out our textbooks. I didn't have my book today and this cute guy next to me did but he didn't ask me if I wanted to sit with him and share. He just sat there and kept looking at his own book without looking at me.

Was I suppose to ask him or was he suppose to approach me? I kind of feel bad because he knew I didn't have a book but did not offer to share... and I thought he was cute too. So is it because he only cares about himself or was I suppose to ask since I don't have the book?

he was shy like i guarantee that it crossed his mind at least once but then he thought u might not want to share...so basically he thought it would be really occurred
