Someone keeps posting things online about me and directed towards me without using my name, but everyone knows this person is referring to me. Is this a form of harrasment or stalking? If it is what can I do about it? Anything will help...

"Stalking -

is a form of harassment which is being more commonly reported. It involves pestering an individual, either in person or in writing or electronic formats or on the telephone. Stalking can also involve following an individual or spying on them, alarming the recipient or causing them distress and may involve violence or fear of violence."

  1. It never hurts to contact Yahoo,if it is on this site. Or you can call the local police station, and they can contact the website and get their IP address, then they can maybe track them down. I would create a new account, then what are they going to do?...... It might be a close friend just pulling your leg..... Hope this helps..........

  2. how can  you prove it without your name

  3. Hit the Yahoo report abuse icon and see what your options are if this is occurring on Yahoo.

  4. He is harmless, I wouldn't worry about it. He can't do you any harm as long as he don't know you personally.

  5. unless the person uses your name and is specifically talking to you, you cant do anything about it.

  6. cyber bullying is illegal make such reports to the police

  7. You have to decide if the postings really hurt you, if so then you have to take suitable action.Unless you can find out the source and can prove that the insinuations are against you it will be difficult to take legal action. Legal suits may consume lot of time and money. You can follow the following suggestions if you want.

    # If the postings occur in a web site, contact the web site server organization and lodge a complaint.

    # If it is through emails pose the complaint to Yahoo or Google or the particular mail server

    # if it is through email you can also change your email address
