I have been having major allergy symptomswith the start of ragweed season from the past 1 week,Runny nose, sneazing, itchy ears, and it started with coughing every once in a while,to coughing several times an hour and now I cough after every few minutes and my chest hurts. The cough is dry and has a deep bronchial sound too it.

I went to the doc last month for shortness of breath, and got tested for Asthma he said it might be bronchiospasms from allergies and gave me an inhaler,he also said I probably have GERD and the acid reflux was giving me mild Asthma.I also was tested positive for several allergies ragweed, birch, dustmites etc.I feel really run down and faint,I feel like I am on my death bed,the coughing is getting worse, the inside of my lungs feel torn to shreds,i sneeze,my nose runs.I am scared if I have pnemonia,I have no insurance and I am too broke to go to the doctor.TELL ME WHAT DOES THIS SOUND LIKE?IS this just hay fever???or is it something more serious im scared?

  1. You could have developed an upper respiratory infection.  I suggest you start by getting an over the counter allergy medication like Claritan D or Zyrtec.  The chain pharmacies have their own generics of each of these and they do the job.  You also need an expectorant like Mucinex.

Drink huge amounts of fluids and try to avoid those things that you react to.

You may just have a summer cold, or severe allergies.  If you don't start to see an improvement in a day or two after starting to treat the symptoms then please go back to the doctor.
