Hello, i was thinking of buying this horse to compete in eventing and show jumping with. He is a 16hh American Warmblood gelding that is 5 years old. He is 5000 and has free jumped up to 5' and is currently jumping 3'3'' under saddle. What do you guys think about his confirmation from what you can see. is he worth test riding/ looking to buy? Does he have a good jumping style? Do you think he will be able to jump high in the future? And do you think he is pretty and will he make a nice event horse?

Here is his video:

  1. Defo go 4 him, i wud buy him lol

he definatleyt has scope to jump bigger under the saddle and takes everthing in his stride, obviously loves  wat he does, Get him b4 he's gone

    good luck

  2. he is a beautiful horse!

a very good jumper too, i think he is worth buying

  3. He is defiantly worth every cent.

Over in Aussie I would pay 10,000 for that horse because he looks to have extreme potential.

Though he is only 5' and jumping high 5 years old is a good age to teach them jumping. And I think he is fully grown as he looks to be pretty good in condition.

Its more the breeds that take longer to mature that you should try things that will strain them.

He seems to be happy to work with you so he is worth it.

  4. hi - he is a good jumper and though i would like to see him being cantered to the jumps more than just being trotted - would be good to see what he looks like when going fluently over a jumping course and how he is to turn etc

my main concern is his age.  i would not be happy to buy a 5 year old that is jumping 3'3. I think that he may have been over jumped whilst growing up and that after a few years, his limps may start to have problems as they have done to much with him too quickly.  I would want to buy a 7/8 year old to be doing what you want as I do worry about how much people rush their young horses to do such performance activities without thinking about their growing bodies/limps

    good luck

  5. he is a great jumper, and only at 5yrs old, wow. he will definately make a great horse in the future and will definately jump high. he great form and he doesnt jump too high or hit the obstacles. he is aslo strong and not afraid of anything in his way. from what I can see he has very good conformation, test ride him, jump him, and if you like him get him a vet check, and if you dont buy him, i will.

  6. He has a nice action and is certainly clearing his jumps well, he seems to be responsive to his rider and is not trying to run out or refuse any of the jumps, based on that alone I would say he is worth a look to see if you can handle him the same way and if you feel safe on him, If $5000 is in your price range and you feel safe and confidant on him then I would say he is a good buy but make sure you test a few different horses don't settle for the first one you try!

    GOOD LUCK!!!!

  7. he is GORGEOUS!! ull be a very lucky person if you get him :)

    stunning.

  8. I would definitely go try him out. He looks like he's built to be a jumper, with a really powerful stride and a nice spring.

One thing I would be careful about when checking him out is the fact that he seems to consistently drop one front leg as he's jumping. The jumps didn't look to be very challenging for him, and often horses let a leg hang when they're being lazy or not being challenge enough by the jumps. However, if you're looking to go into eventing, a horse that hangs one leg over jumps can be really dangerous, especially if you're planning on showing at the upper levels.

The first jump looked the best to me, and some of them I couldn't see very well because of the angle, but all in all he looks like a nice horse. Very alert and willing, I think he could do big things with some experience.

  9. Wow! That horse sounds awsum! Good high jumper. He sounds like hes pretty solid and strong.

He's definitely worth a look at. He sounds beautiful!

  10. He's a great jumper. He has a lot of spring to his jump so I think he should be able to pretty high.

I think he is worth test riding/ looking to buy.

  11. ooo i want him!

He is a stunner. im not very good at conformation but he has a lovely trot and careful jump

  12. DEF!!!If he already jumping that high at 5 years old than he will be able to jump higher!!!! get him!!

  13. He's definitely a keeper, but I do have a beef-- the rider using the reins to balance herself and is WAAAY too heavy-handed!

  14. He IS a good horse, with a lot more work you can get sooooo much out of him.

There are questions that you will need answers to if you are going to buy him. Like, Has he had all of his shots? Has he ever had colic?  How often, and how much do you feed him? And other questions similar to that.

It looks like you have a pretty good horse there, with work he will do  great things.

  15. He's beautiful! Absolutely goreous. I think he is worth buying, he has a very nice jump. He holds his head well, and has a nice tuck with his legs. He also looks like he's alert and happy, seeing as his ears are forward, instead of plastered to his head like some horses. I love his jumping style, its very cute. He kind of does the jack rabbit thing with his back end, but I think that is alright, and horses at shows don't really get marked down for it. I think he can definately go higher if you put the time into it. I think he will make a lovely event horse! If I could buy a horse, I'd buy him! I don't know if it was just the rider not having enough control, but he looked like a bit of a handful, so be prepared for that. Other than that, he's amazing! Good luck! :]

  16. wow...

    He is so cute!

And a really great jumper =]. He'll make an awesome even horse. His rider was holding him back on XCountry and he didn't even care. He looks NICE in the definition of sweet and skillfull.

  17. I would deff. go look at him! He is very cute, jumps nice, and very reasonably prices for the potential he seems to have. He is deff. made for eventing :)

Good Luck, Hope ya get'em! :)

    worth the look

  19. He looks really good. i think if you work with him he can eventually jump higher. He looks pretty calm and confident going over the jumps and hes has a pretty stride ,he'd be good in under saddle.

  20. HI, wow!!! He is beautiful!  He seems to be really calm and listens well... especially for his first time cross country jumping!  I think he would make an awesome eventer... Like something I would be interested in!  He is definitely worth trying out!!!  He looks really powerful, yet light on his feet... perfect for an eventer!

    Good luck...Have fun trying him!
