Is this how home finals work?

Say the swans come 3rd. We play 2 at their home ground. Say 3 loses we then play at our home ground and if we win where do we play the prelim? I guess it would be at the ground of 1 v 4 winner.

Also isn't there some clause about highest ranked non victorian team getting preference?

Is Melbourne guaranteed a final every week?

    Mate, you`ve pretty much got it right with the matches, who plays who.

    There is no clause about non vic teams getting a preference, that I know of. Some people on here say that the non vic teams get preferential treatment, but i dont think thats true.

    The MCG had a contract, stating that at least 1 final had to be played there every week, regardless of whether the team with the home final was from Melb. It was ridiculous, and they changed it last year. So no, Melbourne is not guaranteed a final every week.
