  1. Yes, global warming is a big problem. Smaller cars like we drive in Europe are the best answer, hybrids use massive amounts of energy in their construction. The capitalist society we have almost guarantees more global warming, because we have to keep consuming!

  2. I feel the say way about j*p junk that you do about American cars. Toyota rushed there hybred to market five years ago, and it was junk the first three years. Ford, GM and Chrysler have took the time to perfect theres before going to market. We need the products that are coming now for the masses. And truth be told all cars today are world cars. Your Honda was made in Ohio.

  3. I believe the US automakers will try to cram all things "HYBRID" down out throats for years to come...but only because they've been s******g around since the early 1980's while ALL foreign automakers figured out how to make more power with less mass/engine.

"Hybrid" to domestic automakers means: we don't have enough common sense to build something that is efficient, so let's throw billions of dollars of far-reaching technology at it, and see what comes out.

I would drive my 1995 Honda until it dies before touching a 2005-present GM.  255,000 miles on my original clutch and engine, and she has never missed a start.  Even on those 20-below and worse mornings.  Replaced battery, CV shafts once, oil changes, tires and bulbs.  Had it been a domestic, I'd be out an engine, 2 transmissions, and god knows how many things would be broken all around the car.

  4. I don't think that its a gimmick. I am not like a tree hugger or anything but... duh! it only June and in Maine we have already got up to or past the 80's twice.. so that leads me to belive that global warming is true, so the cars commpanies are realizing that if it really is true it might kill everyone and then they WOULDNT HAVE MONEY!!!!! So yeah... thats my theory

  5. yes it is. i think they say the Honda gets 35 miles to the gallon on the highway, but any well built 4 cylinder should do the same on gas alone. i built a 455 Buick engine for for my dads 1967 Buick Electra 225 and it got 23 miles to the gallon on the high way. that's good for a big block. in my old 84 Monte Carlo, i drove it from Wichita, ks to Joplin mo. and back on 3/4 of a tank and it was a 12.80 e.t. car with a 350 and 3.73 gears rev-in 4200 rpm all the way. they can do better with fuel economy on new cars without going hybrid.
