Ok i used to go to this pharmcay i used to go to and right after i got out of surgery i had surgery on my nose and they gave me dorvacet so i got it filled at the pharmcay then i kept hurting so i went back to my doctor and told him that dorvacet wasnet working for me and i was really in pain so he gave me a script of vicodin i went back to the pharmacy gave them my new script and they said they won't fill it unless i give them back my darvocet. Now i heard thats illegal i had script changes at another pharmcy and they diden't ask for my orignal script. This pharmacy that i went to that asked for my dorvacet back there a small pharmacy own bye arabs now i have nothing against arabs but there were getting there pills shiped to them threw some unkown truck shiper that i have not heard of he used a regular pickup truck the pharmacist diden't ware a uniform nor did the others. Now i want to know if giveing back my original script is illegal cause they were going to resale them.

  1. Once it has been given to you it is yours to sue and if you don't use it, it is for you to dispose of it.  yes you can take it back to the pharmacy to dispose of it but you do not have to.

    What has happened is illegal.

Yes to phoning the police non emergency line and then also tell the surgery chief receptionist or someone in charge of the surgery.

Also once you have done that the Primary health Trust if you get nowhere with above but you should do.

  2. Yes!! Make a complaint to your board of licensure for Pharmacists in your state and let your Dr. know.

  3. Once the pills have left my eyesight, I can't take them back according to federal law.  In this situation, if I notice the prescription is from the same prescriber, I wouldn't have any problems with it.  In a worst case scenario, I might call him/her for verification.  It is not uncommon for people to try one pain killer, determine it isn't strong enough, and come back with another prescription.  It sounds fishy in my opinion.  It is illegal to take back prescriptions once they leave.  If you can, go to another pharmacy and/or make a complaint with your state board of pharmacy.

  4. Call your local police department's non-emergency phone number and ask them if this is legal or not.  Don't mention you're doing this to your doctor or pharmacist, in case the police want to do an investigation.

I'm no legal adviser, but this doesn't sound right to me, at all.  How would the pharmacy know whether or not you messed with the returned pills?

My pharmacist wouldn't take back pills telling me it was against the law, once I took possession of them.  I'd had them like two minutes and decided I didn't want them.

  5. a prescription medicine that has been filled and dispensed correctly by a pharmacy does not go back to the pharmacy.  It is illegal to resell a prescription already dispensed.

You need to go to a better pharmacy.
