Is this illegal? what can happen too her?

okay well my sister was babysitting my aunts dog while she was on vacation..but she got kicked out of her apartment and let the dog go, is there any crimes too this? and my aunt does not know anything yet seeing as she is not back from vacation yet..

why would your aunt press charges on her niess? talk about awkward christmas card that year

Could be charged with endangering an animal.  If your aunt decides to press charges.  How irresponsible.

It would be civil not criminal, she has a responsibility to care for the dog but unless she intentionally the the animal at risk she is ok.
