Is this implantation bleeding? Am I pregnant!?!?

Ok, I know the best answer is to "just go get a test"... but i wanted some opinions before I go get my hopes up.

About 2 weeks ago, (right in the middle of my cycle) I went to take my pill in the morning and dropped it on the floor and couldn't find it. I figured it would be ok to skip that days pill and just resume as normal the following day...

Well.... the following day I took my pill, and that night, a kiss turned into a cuddle and a cuddle turned into making love....and my partner came inside me.

My period was due yesterday. It finally arrived just before I went to bed. All day today the bleeding has been very light, which is unusual for me cos I have been cursed with heavy periods my entire life. The last tampon I changed only had a small amount of blood on it... mostly brownish stuff and a tiny bit of red....probably not even enough blood to warrant needing a tampon at all.

My pregnant friend just said this sounds like implantation bleeding...

could I be pregnant???

Does implantation bleeding occur when a period is supposed to be due, or does it happen on any random day?

  1. u have to skip the pill for like a month or so...but i don't think ur pregnant and can call and ask a doctor for more info

  2. Implantation bleeding occurs 8-12 days after ovulation. Which is usually 1 week to a couple days before your period. Some doctors say it can last for up to 3 days of bleeding just not as heavy as a normal period. Most people that do have implantation bleeding think that it is just an irregular period until they find out they are indeed pregnant. My question to you is how long have you been taking birth control? If you have only been on it for a month then it is a possibility that you are pregnant. If you have been on it for a while then it could have just lightened your period. There are some people that still get pregnant while taking birth control so you can't completely rule it out! I would wait until you are a week past your period and take a test just to make sure. There are some people that have periods while pregnant too. So just to make sure wait a week and retest! good luck to you!

  3. no dont worry,u r not pregnant.u missed only one tablet.u have to be completely off the tablets for atleast a month to get pregnant.

  4. Implantation bleeding usually happens one week after fertilization. So 2 weeks afterwards is too late for implantation bleeding.

If you just missed one day of birth control pills, and especially if you are bleeding now with a period on time, chances are that you are not pregnant, though only a negative pregnancy test will confirm this.
