Okay. So here is the senario: Period is due today and I have absolutely no cramps today. I usually wake up to find stupid AF came unwelcomed during the night. As of now, she isn't here yet. (I know i know..she can show up at any time, but I am just hoping she doesn't) Yesterday, after BDing, I wiped and saw a small amount of very light brown discharge. Also, I don't know if it is my imagination, but I thought I saw a little brown stuff in the toliet after I peed. Implantation this late?

I had cramps last night, but they went away after I saw that stuff on the toliet paper. I took my BBT temp in the morning and it was at 97.7. My coverline is 97.2. Yesterday it dipped to 97.5, so I thought I was out. Is it possible to still be above coverline and still get AF? My nipples have started to itch bit and feel tingly. My b*****s feel bruised when I press lightly on them and have felt this way for several days. BTW I took at HPT a few mins ago. Negative but it wasnt FMU and peed very little.

  1. Hate to say it, but it sounds to me like your period is starting. Implantation bleeding is usually light pink (not brown) and mixed with a lot of mucous. What you desribed sounds the beginning of your period (especially with the cramps last night and a negative HPT). Brown blood is usually old blood, so could be you bled a litttle after BD, and a few hours later it was discharged. BDing is good for getting rid of cramps.

  2. Implantation bleeding happens around the same time you would expect your normal period; it is lighter in every way shape and form than a regular period (less painful, less 'heavy', lasts less--up to 3 days max). That being said, it is not too late for implantation bleeding, rather it is just in time to be.

However, implantation bleeding does not happen after s*x, it happens spontaneously just like a regular period would. Basal body temperature would remain high if you conceive. Sore, tender b*****s are also a sign of PMS; and the fact that you have a negative test decreases the chance that it was in fact implantation bleeding. By now, on the day of your period, it shouldn't matter if it was first morning urine or not; although it carries a higher concentration of the hormone, you can test any time of the day.

However, if you are producing very little of the hormone, you may want to consider testing first thing tomorrow morning with First Response, which is very sensitive and comes in a digital version for further accuracy.

You can also try to relax and wait a few more days--periods are not set in stone, and although some periods are like clockwork, others can come sooner or later than we expect and still be a normal cycle. Good luck.
