Is this information true about the earthquake in S. Cali today?

Question

Geologists say that the earth ground is hot due to the excessive use of gas. There will be a dramatic Earthquake in California coming in September or November. The date is not confirmed through the government. But it will likely be September. So prepare if you are living in California ! The next Earthquake will kill millions of people.

This was in a bulletin on myspace (I know, lame). If this info isn't accurate can anyone tell me what info IS? Thanks

This is false!!!!! its gonna be 7.9 and it will hit within the next 10 yrs and no millions wont die!! they predict that los angeles will be in san francisco when it hits.

I will challenge that your state C.A will not be affected by major earthquakes before this year. This is not a prediction but from my knowledge.

I have not heard of anyone developing a technology that can predict an earthquake to within a few months. So I would have to say that information is false. Most earthquakes are "predicted" by reviewing the layers of dirt and rock near the fault and determining how often an earthquake happens for a fault, whether it by once every 100 years or 300 years. People have an idea when they should occur, but it cannot be pinpointed to a month.

unofficial statements are always 90% hoax i live in so cali and heard nothing like that.

if it happens it happens, i actually like the earthquakes cuz they scare the living c**p out of me.

I don't know, sheesh i hope not. Some of those myspace bulletins are made to scared you (made by stupid people).. so i seriously hope not.
