  1. it is jumping if the horse comes off the ground. Anything higher then a trotting pole pretty much. If the poles are even slightly off the ground then i consider it a jump. CONGRATULATIONS!

  2. yes its jumping... congrats

  3. yes it is jumping, and allice was giving encouragement...

  4. Yes, it is considered jumping.

  5. As long as the horse actually jumped over it, it is jumping.  some horses will still trot over super-low cross rails.  The feeling is unmistakable, though.  So, if you felt the horse "jump," instead of just trot, then you jumped!  Congratulations!  You are now addicted the adrenaline rush only flying on a horse can give you : ).

  6. Yes it is.

  7. Yes, it is considered jumping. I hope you don't get hurt!

  8. yes, it is. the very basics of it, but definitely jumping. congrats!

  9. as long as the horse is off the ground, its jumping..

    congratulationss!!

    mkayy??

  10. it is jumping. Some horse will actually pop over them pretty nicely and give you a nice jump if you get enough impulsion, some horse will just step over them if they are bored with it or lazy, and some will just hop, especially the big horses. But yes, it is jumping. congrats, you're journey starts now! this is when things really start moving up!

    =D

  11. Yes! Go celebrate! Congratulations!!! Jumping is the best thing ever!!

  12. We all have to start someplace..and when it comes to jumping this is a definite starting point!!

You should feel proud..I'm sure your instructor would not risk you hurting yourself if you weren't ready to progress.

Remember your first ride..then trotting..then posting and wondering when you were going to canter..and you've accomplished that!!

I'm excited for you!!   Enjoy and learn from your new challenges!!

  13. haha aw congrats!! and yes i consider it jumping because the horse jumps over no matter how small the hop

    i'm glad you had fun!

    keep it up!

    =)

  14. You should feel proud!  I think most people would consider that jumping if you're two-pointing, even if the horse probably isn't actually jumping, just taking a bigger stride.

  15. It could be.  Did she actually jump?  Meaning, did she lift her front feet off the ground at the same time and use her back end to send her over?  If not, she probably just trotted/cantered over it.  In my experience, horses new to jumping are lazy and unsure of what you are asking the first few times and they trot over the crossrails the same as they would a ground pole.  This would not be considered jumping, but it is a start, and something to be proud of!

Maybe have someone watch or even film you so you can see exactly what's going on?

    Good luck..

  16. yup yup yup hehe I've been jumping for awhile now and I sometimes go back to poles to work on my spot so of course
