Yesterday at like 2pm I started to get a sore throat, but I didnt really make a huge deal of it - I just took a vitamin C and forgot about it. At about 5pm I went shopping cause I desperately needed pants (I didnt have a choice) and when I was at the shops my nose felt blocked up. I have noticed that my hearing has been a bit muffled for about a week now, but no other sypmtoms. When I came home my friend invited me over for a sleepover. I REALLY wanted to go and my mum was completely againt the idea, but eventually let me go. When I got there I got a runny nose, very blocked, my hearing was muffled, my throat was really sore and my glands were swollen. That night I felt like dying. The next day we woke up and they had the idea of going to the shopping centre and I felt a bit pressured to go cause I didnt want to ruin the day, so i went. I felt SO sick there, like I was going to faint. I freaked out cause they werent listening when I told them i REALLY felt like i NEEDED to go home. We eventually got to her house and my dad took me home.

I feel SO sick. Im constantly burping (I just noticed that like 20 minutes ago) and have all the symptoms I listed above. (But im not feeling like im gonna faint - i think thats just cause it was stuffy and crowded at the shops).

My mum made me this homemade drink to help with the sore thorat and blocked nose (She put honey and fresh lemons with water and sugar and boiled it with cloves). It tastes funny cause I cant actually taste the flavour, just the tang from the lemins. Its making me feel icky cause its like the feeling you get when you're about to vomit :\

My muscles ache a fair but, but that usually happens. Im just noticing that my backs hurting more than usual.

My glands are up and I cant see my jawline in front of my ears. Its not glandular fever cause I havent been near anyone who has it and I dont kiss everyone :]

Im freaking out cause I feel gross as. And im in a s**+tty mood cause I need to blow my nose but i cant cause I just got my nose pierced last week (Most likely not linked to my sickness) and im finding it hard to blow my nose! Its contantly nunnig and i've had a Multivitamin, about 6 vitamin C tablets and im keeping my fluids up. I can hold down food fine (I just had an egg on toast) and my mum told me not to have it with cheese cause dairy makes mucus and all...but i did cause its not the same without cheese!

Is this just a common cold? OR WORSE!?

Im a BIT of a hypochondriac so i dont know when somethings serious, or if its just normal.

Please help me :[ When will i get better? What do i have?

Ahhhhhhh :O

Xx

p.s. No night-sweats, no fever (My temperature was spot on average, if not a little lower). I've got flushed cheeks too.

Please answer :[

  1. Classic signs of aggressive lymphoma.  I'm sorry, but you're dying.

Duh it's a common cold, at worst a light case of the flu.  Just get some bed rest and drink your fluids, some NyQuil will help you sleep better at night.  After that, do the world a favor and see a psychologist.

  2. It sounds like you should have taken it easy instead of pushing so much, however, whats done is done.  It sounds like you are getting the flu.  Drink plenty of fluids, no milk products, keep taking the vitamin C and please rest!  Sounds like it started out with allergies then is turning into a nasty cold.

  3. honey u have a flu i had that it can become deadly and kill u. if it starts to hurt ur chest, go to the doctor

  4. There is a cold and then there is the flue. Sounds like you got the flue. You should get some of that cold medicine with remedies for achy and sinus all included in a hot drink that you make. It's good stuff and will make you feel some better. I'll bet you have about 2-3 days of miserable and then 3-4 more days of getting back to normal.

Good part is you get to lay around, watch TV and play on the Internet between naps.

  5. sounds like its just a head cold

  6. you need to resssssst.   its prob just a common cold and your body is trying to fight it off but by not resting you are making it harder for your immune system to fight of the sickness.  my advice would be lots of rest and drinking plenty of water.   Vitamin C is a good idea too.  if it doesnt go away within a week, see your dr....I hope you feel better hun

  7. Sounds like you have a serious strep infection and your sinus system is messed up. The pressure you feel in your nose and ears are closely connected. I think you should see a doctor to have your glands examined if they are truly swelling up that bad, and to do something about that pressure buildup if necessary.

Try yawning a lot. Vitamines don't work, they are a preventative measure, but it's also good to take them if you have a fever and aren't eating.

  8. If your symptoms persist any longer than 5 days, you should see  your doctor. Ask him or her for a strep throat culture. Strep throat can give you many of your symptoms. Another possibility is that you are allergic to some sort of plant/tree pollen, this can also cause a soar throat and a blocked up nose. Regardless, I would go see a doctor if your symptoms do not abate within a few more days. I hope you feel better soon.
