Is this just a weird coincidence?

I can be laying down, feeling the baby kicking, and literally the second my boyfriend goes to put his hand on my belly he stops kicking!

I know, it sounds crazy. But it happens EVERYTIME.

It's like the baby knows we want to feel him kick, and he stops.

It's been happening for 5 weeks now!

Does this happen to anyone else?

  1. happens all the time to me don't know why it's like he knows i can lay my hand on my stomach and he kicks but when hubby does he stops all movement

  2. Haha, cool.

  3. Oh yeah, it did and she's still just as stubborn at the age of 4.

  4. yes all the time and i get frustrated cause i start yelling at him that the baby is kicking, to come feel it and the second he gets there my baby stops...thats funny

  5. same thing happened to me for awhile.

but after awhile he finally kicked for other people.

  6. Haha, that happened with my son constantly!  As soon as hubby's hand would touch my tummy, he'd stop kicking.  Eventually he could actually see my belly moving and could catch it in time, but it was really funny how babies are stubborn like that.

  7. that is funny... it did happen with me. we just said he was shy. this was when he first started kicking. then he came out his shell a little. he still wouldn't kick for just anyone.

  8. It happened to my friend and her husband too!  Now that her baby is born, he's a big "mama's boy"! :)  Sometimes it happens to me and my husband with our baby, but if he just is patient and keeps his hand on my stomach for a long time, like, 5 minutes straight or more (when she's active) he feels her quite a bit. :)  Good luck!!

  9. My baby won't kick for my husband.  He'll be going to town and the second hubby comes near me, baby stops.  I think it's funny!

  10. Happens EVERY TIME to me.

    I have a theory:

My husband's touch is a little different than mine (a bit more firm) - I think the baby can sense the difference.

  11. That happened to us all the time too. It wasn't until I was about 36 weeks along that my husband could really feel the baby kick. Poor guy!

  12. Soon enough your boyfriend will feel the kicks. Your baby will get bigger and therefore, won't be able to avoid him lol.

My daughter did it for the longest, and now at 24 weeks, he's able to feel her more often since she is a growing gal.

  13. when I was pregnant and I would lay beside my hubby my son would snuggle up to his back It felt like somone was pulling my belly into his back but it was sweet  try it

  14. The baby Kicks when my daughter is talking to or touching my belly. As soon as hubby tries she stops. Its funny!! Baby is as stubborn as her dad and sister. Oh Lucky ME!!

  15. Yes that happens to me a lot. I have a theory...maybe my heart rate and breathing changes when I ask him to feel (hoping the baby won't stop) causing the baby to stop or change movements. He says he can feel her while I'm asleep. I don't know, but I like to believe there is a relationship like that between the mommy and baby.
