i've never had a cat and this is my first time getting one spayed, and I'm not exactly sure what to expect.

Does it look normal to you?

  1. Definitely you should go back to the vet and ask them if the site looks okay if you are unsure about it.  If you're still not really sure, you can go to a different vet for a second opinion.  When I had my kitty spayed, I didn't get a good look at the incision because she hid under the lazyboy for 3 days....  For sure if you see that it is red, you should head back to the vet, but just to ease your mind, go back anyway!  It's a good idea to have a follow up if you have questions.

  2. I dont get the picture but if its like a balloon I will think about bacteria or parasites infections or  and will take it to the vet (need i say that?)

  3. looks fine.

  4. if your worried I would call the vet in the am!

  5. call the vet

  6. I would relax and wait a few days. Make sure you are giving her the antibiotics that your vet prescribed so the incision doesn't get infected. There will be some initial swelling at the suture site for a couple days. It also looks like your vet really sutured the incision pretty close together.

Rarely do spays go wrong and if they do, you'll know it. If you are still not sure, and are still worried about the swelling, do a check of the incision. If it were infected, it would be bright red and would feel hot or warm to the touch. It would also be leaking puss. A little blood and fluid may leak, but that's pretty normal as well. Just make sure not to let your kitty l**k at the wound until it has healed. Should get better within a couple more days. If you are still uncertain, then I would at least call the vet and see what they have to say, that way you have peace of mind.

Kudos to you for spaying your kitty. That's one less cat that could have kittens with no where to go. Thank you for combating the over growing cat population. :)

    Good luck!

  7. Couldn't really tell but she looked glued might still have stitches inside that dissolve and she could be having a reaction to them or just be infected either way if you are worried you should take her to be checked.

  8. From looking at the second picture, it does look swollen.  With that said it looks just like my cats a few days after she was spayed.  It felt kind of hard and I was concerned and she had took one of her stitches out so off to the vet we went.  My vet said she would be fine (she was) and that it was ok.  But if you are concerned take her in, nothing here can ease that concern.  As my cat healed that  bump went down.  Call your vet, watch her to see if she gets worse,    and take her in when you can.  Good luck, I am sure your kitty will be fine

  9. The photo looks like A mountain peak in the himalayas.

  10. Yeah, swelling that bad requires a vet to check it out.

Maybe your cat got an allergic reaction from the anasthecia?

Poor thing. Take her to the vet like NOW!!!!!
