Is this legal license suspension?

I asked this a little while ago but only got one answer. I received a ticket in October 2007 and went to court for it in December 2007. The ticket was for failure to provide an insurance card. At that time I paid the ticket and thought all was fine. Then the first week of this month I received a letter stating my license were suspended back in December of 2007. This was the first notice I received. So my license had been suspended for seven months without my knowledge. Apparently it was entered into the system that I didnt have insurance coverage instead of not having an insurance card. When I called about this they admitted it was there error but told me it would take seven to fourteen days to correct and in the mean time if I was caught driving in the meantime I would go to jail for driving on a suspended license since thats what was in the computer. Is there any legal action I can file upon the state for this injustice?

The suspension was legal because if the charge was only failure to prove financial responsibility, it should have been dismissed when you appeared in court and proved that you did have insurance at the time of the stop. I don't understand why you would have plead guilty.  That plea caused the suspension.

As for legal action, not unless you are actually arrested for driving with a suspended license.

If this were to happen then yes, you can take legal course of action (if you can prove you shouldn't have been suspended!)

but until then, no. You should have asked them for an affidavit stating your license is not suspended.
