In short yes it's illegal. The funny thing is we get many of our medications from Candida that are sold here in pharmacy's.

Depends on what you're buying.  If you have a prescription to be filled and can fill it cheaper by mail, then yes, it's legal.  If you are looking for medications that have not been prescribed, like Xanax or Vicodin for recreational purposes, then no, it's not legal.  

That being said, any reputable pharmacy in the US is regulated by the FDA and DEA, and there are mail-order pharmacies available.  However, there are on-line pharmacies located outside the US that engage in unscrupulous practices like filling the wrong dosage or putting other substances in medications that may harm the person taking them.  Pharmacies outside the US aren't under the same legal provisions, and it is illegal at this time to import medications by mail from Canada.
