  1. actually the first answerer  is right, the basking bulb doesn't matter as long as it is incandescent, and provides the optimum temps of 90-95F. Also it works for me to have a basking bulb that is 60 watts, and about 4-5 inches away from the basking place. As for the uvb bulb, i wouldnt go with that one, but instead i recomend Reptosun 5.0, it is pretty expensive at $40, but hey it makes sure your turtle doesnt get mbd( metabolic bone disease) so it is important that you get it. You should put it right next to the basking place, next to the basking lamp, so the turtle can get uva AND uvb while basking! Good luck w your turtle!- And remember to take care of that turtle!:)

  2. The basking bulb does not matter as long as it provides the proper temps. You could even use a clear incandescent bulb.

In addition to the basking lamp you will need a uvb STRIP bulb.

The only one that you should use is a reptISUN 10.0 (not reptAsun, or ReptiGLo)

They basically say that the coating on the other bulbs are faulty. including the compact bulbs.
