Is this my fault?

I was about to take my son to his practice earliar, and I specifically asked him if he was wearing all of his protection. and I've seen kids do a "cup check" where you give the boy a little tap to their region to make sure they are wearing protection. Well I did it, and it turned out, he wasnt wearing any protection at all, and I got his balls, which really hurt him. Is this my fault or his for not wearing protection?

  1. AHAHAHA Thats too funny. I'm sure no harm was meant.

  2. well maybe next time he will be wearing protection. on the other hand it is tacky to smack anyone there just to see if they have their cup on!!!

  3. HA HA HA, Sorry but that is something I would do! but you should have just asked! Poor kid, just make sure he knows it was cause you were checking and tell him you are sorry and give him tons and kisses! Later he will be laughing his butt off about it when he has a son and the same thing occurs to him!

  4. It doesn't matter whos fault ... I'm sure you'd feel bad that your son got hurt either way.  My mom once shut the sliding van door on my little sister's head (the little one had tried to crawl back in after mom had told us to go in the house) My sister's fault for disobeying my mom, or my moms fault ... didn't matter, my mom still feels horrible that she hurt her child.

It was an accident that you hurt your son, give him lots of hugs and kisses ... he'll bounce back (it may actually take you longer to "heal" than him cuz you feel bad about it)

  5. Clearly yours. Why would you do that?

Just ask and wait for an answer from him.

  6. You meant well. Maybe he'll remember next time. Parents are allowed to make mistakes. It could've been worse. One time when I was little my dad threw a football at my head. He felt REALLY bad.

    It's hilarious now.

  7. Better your tap than him getting hit by a ball or something.  I see why you feel bad but just think about what you save him from.

  8. You probably shouldn't be giving your son a "cup check".  He can do it himself.

With that said, no one is really at fault.  Let him learn to do things on his own.  Next time, just ask.
