Question:

Is this my lucky week . . . lottery winnings?

I have won three lotteries: one from Nigeria, one from the UK, (I have won these before) and a brand new one from Australia. Not only this but I have accounts with two banks, and a credit card company, that I didn't even know I had. Am I lucky or is this just "scary"? I almost responded, not really, to an e-mail that actually "could have been from my bank." These scam artists are persistent and almost good.

  1. yes there are lots in my mail also letting me know that i have won some lottery or other, i'm 1 lucky gal!! i just go to "options" and report the site, sometimes it takes 2 or 3 tries but at least it is reported. these people think we are pretty d**n dumb to fall for this c**p, but unfortunately some people do fall for these scams. now who ever checks into this when i report this site really do check into the site, that's another thing

  2. The sad part is that there are actually some people that fall for those scams. It is scary. I just delete.

  3. you need to be more carefully if anything comes up that you need to give some one your bank information or a credit information run run as fast as you can.good luck

  4. Congratulations ! !  Did you say you were flying us all there for a huge party ? ? ? ? Oh what fun that would be ! !  = ) . . . .

I just received one with a new twist . . . .titled "Beloved" . . . Some multimillionaire died and his wife inherited . . .now the poor dear has leukemia and has only 3 months left.  She wanted to give me the money because I'm an honest person and I am to oversee that their money is put to good use . . . .geesh, just hire a lawyer ! !  It got flushed like all the rest ! ! !   Be very careful my friends ! !  Very mean and untrustworthy people are out there ! ! !

  5. And to believe that there are still some people that are that gullible or naive to fall for this cr--. After all the warnings that have been put out there, there is still some sucker that will fall for it. Serves them right, I say. As my mantra goes "I see stupid people!!!".

Yes they are persistent and all it takes is just one person to fall for their scheme. Scary isn't it. The world is full of scam artists and they show no mercy.

  6. Some folks have all the luck.

Way back in 1970 when I was broke and down and out some friends took up a collection. They knew I was to proud to take  charity so they had a phoney raffile  All the tickets they put in a hat had the same number 11 and they had all agreed to stay quite at the drawing so I would win. They said 11 and no one answered so a friend asked whats your number and I told him 6 and 7/8.

  7. Unfortunately, these scams are not just in email now.  There's a huge bank scam going on right now using phone numbers with the 804 (VA)area code.  They are targeting credit union members by phone and telling them that there is a problem with their account and that they need to verify information.  If it's happening in Virginia, it won't be long until it's happening in other area codes too.  So if you get a call from your credit union, hang up the phone and call their customer service to make sure that it is legitimate before you give out any information over the phone.

  8. Yes, these scam artists are persistent and clever. Apparently some get it  right often enough to make a living at it.

I'm curious about one thing though.  I've wondered how many of the would-be scam artists are victims themselves.  I wonder how many have paid good money to learn "How to get people to send you money in the mail for free."   Hmm?

  9. You must be wrong, I just won the lottery in Nigeria.
