Is this name too common?

Brayden James?

I really liked Aiden, and the middle name is James no matter what.

But my nephews name is Alexander, and his middle name is James, so there'd be another "AJ"

Also, the initials would be BJW.

Do you think the BJ, would get him teased?

  1. Yes, it is. Names like Aiden, Brayden, Cayden, Hayden and Jayden are all awfully overused and trendy at the moment. James is a classic, strong name.

  2. If the kids knew his middle name they would. But he doesn't have to say anything about it to them. Just don't put his initials on anything write his full name and then your set!

I think it sounds great and no it's not too common (as far as I know). But I'm also partial to Alexander that's my first borns name. His initials are ATM (alexander thomas murphy) and only because they are all family names.

  3. its common but if you like it keep it its up to you and he shouldn't get teased for having the initials BJ

  4. Way too common.  The world already has too many Brayden, Hayden, Aiden and anything else similiar.

And BJ will get him teased......

  5. You like the name, use it. It doesn't really matter how common it is if that is what your heart is set on. I know when I was pregnant, I used the name Jaidyn with a pretty rare and awesome middle name and that was the baby's name to me no matter what other names we discussed. BJ will get him teased so just don't make that his nickname. His middle name will most likely only come up to people he is closer to anyway. I still like the name the other way around, James Brayden.

Anyway, I've never heard the name Brayden but I must just be out of the loop. I wouldnt worry about it being common because I highly doubt when he gets to school that there will be more than one or two other Brayden around. Call him what your heart tells you to.

  6. Brayden is a cute name, but unfortunately, it's part of "the blob" - the mono-name that tons of kids seem to get today:

    Kayla-Jayla-Jayden-Aiden-Brayden-Hayde...

Honestly, between Brayden and Aiden, I'd use Aiden - it's wildly popular, too, but has the advantage of a long history and some authentic roots.

  7. no i thank braden is a cute name but i like aiden more that was going to be out babys name untill i decided to use my dads name so our babys going to be called shane dylan and my partner thinks its too much of a back in the day name??? lol but he knows i want it to be named after my dad (dylans for his brother)

so it dosnt realy matter what other people think if you like it

but bj is definetly gonna get him bagged you said u liked aiden as well y not use that?

good luck and congrats on your boy:-)

  8. definatly

  9. another AJ doesn't matter.  BJ would definitely get him teased.  The problem I see is that both Aiden and Brayden are pretentious.  If I was forced to choose one I would choose Aiden.

  10. Yes the BJ would get him teased so I don't recommend it.

  11. h**l yes he would get teased. Espacially if he goes by BJ. Maybe Brayden Dylan or something?

  12. I love it, very cute!

  13. Brayden James is a cute name.

    && i know someone name B.J.

they really don't get made fun of.

like if they do..they do it as a joke.

  14. Do you like the "aiden" names? How about Caden James CJ.

  15. Brayden James iis really good

    i like it alot

i dont think he would get teased with BJ

  16. Brandon James is another option if you think Brayden might be too popular.  Or Brendon, or Brenton.

BJ is awesome in my opinion as initials - but if you and him don't like this don't introduce him as BJ but just as his first name and no one will call him BJ :)

  17. maybe, depends kinda on where ya live ,i have found.i know lots of aj's bjs,etc in georgia..hardly any in southern california.maybe you could go with a different first name.goodluck!

  18. I knew a William (Billy) Joseph and we all called him BJ, it was funny and we would laugh when we said it, but also we were older. I think the middle school age would tease a lot more.

    Good Luck!
