Is this narcolepsy??

If I don't constantly top up myself with amphetamines, I fall asleep at the drop of a hat. Could Narcolepsy be the underlying cause of a 20yr speed habit?. Also I think I think I must have had ADHDHA(?) when I was a kid. Why dont adults get AADAHA ,? What medication do I need? ( I was prescribed Dexedrine for 10yrs, until it became unfashionable ) Can I get Methedrine on NHS, or will I have to go private?

  1. This is where you'll find all the info you need on narcolepsy - http://www.helpguide.org/life/narcolepsy... - if any of the symptoms you've mentioned are here, you need to go to your GP immediately or ASAP.

  2. You made me laugh...thank-you..some can be a little sef-righteous here. Can only answer part of your question.. saw "this morning" this week and there was a clip about adult ADHD..I looked up the web site for you

    Adult ADHD

    www.aadd.org.uk

Can only suggest going to your doc about Narcolepsy..they can refer you to a sleep clinic. Interesting to note that Amphetimines are a treatment for narcolepsy.

"Stimulants - Examples: Methylphenidate (Ritalin), Modafinil (Provigil) and various amphetamines. These are the main drugs prescribed for narcolepsy. They act on the central nervous system to help people stay alert and awake during the day. Stimulants are effective, but can have strong side effects, such as nervousness and heart palpitations."

  3. You are displaying classic amphetamine psychosis, u need to stop taking amphetamines, see a doctor who'll prescribe the appropriate medication. Good luck,

  4. Sounds like drug addiction and denial. Lots of drugs addicts use "diseases" and injuries as an excuse.

You might have some underlying condition, but I guarantee it's not nearly bad enough to justify being an addict.

Actually it's both sad and amusing that you'd come here telling us you have 20 year speed habit but instead ask us about narcolepsy and adhd. If wanted us to care more about those diseases, then you could have excluded the addiction! The addiction is more important than the narcolepsy or adhd. It's not being self righteous, I've just seen it before.

  5. You need a drug detox and rehab program.
